Lake County Medical Association

The Lake County Medical Alliance is a nonprofit (501 C6) volunteer organization of physicians’ spouses/partners, physicians, and medical associates, working to promote healthy communities and support medical families. It is affiliated with the Ohio State Medical Association Alliance and the American Medical Association Alliance.

Scholarship

The LCMA provides a number of annual scholarships to Lake County students entering allied health fields of study (nursing, pharmacy, occupational and physical therapy, speech pathology, audiology, etc).

Also, congrats to our Carla Stallworth scholarship recipients awarded by the Lake Health Foundation.

Students who are pursuing a healthcare career are given the opportunity to apply for a scholarship Each student selected to receive a scholarship will continue to receive funding for each year through their program.

Fundraising

Our annual Fall brunch and artisan shopping event, Vignettes, is the primary fund-raising vehicle for our scholarship fund.

We also support various community health groups/initiatives.

Legislation

The LCMA disseminates current information about legislation and political issues affecting medicine.

Affiliated with the county and state medical societies and alliances, the group utilizes these connections to stay informed about relevant issues and makes ample use of its “blast” e-mail system to keep members and physicians informed.
